Question or Issue Mining turtles don’t mine. Placing a regular turtle, putting in a pickaxe and giving it the command to excavate does not work. The turtle moves around the space specified, then stops and spits out it’s contents.
I can also not equip a diamond pickaxe, shovel or axe to it’s inventory. It just says „Item not equippable“. The recipe to make a mining turtle also does not work. Putting the diamond pickaxe and turtle into a player’s crafting, a regular crafting table, or tinker’s crafting table all do not work, even though the recipe shows I have the correct items. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:.

A Mining Turtle is the same as a Turtle , only now you can use it to mine for you. Mining a block is done instantly, and will only retrieve items or blocks if mining the block with the same pick would drop items or blocks normally, so any mining turtle can mine obsidian instantly , but only a turtle with a diamond pick will retrieve a block of obsidian; a turtle with a Ruby pick will not however both can still mine Logs and Dirt.
The turtle still requires fuel to move, but mining a block without moving does not require fuel. The pickaxe does not have durability – it can be used infinitely. Since it mines every mineable block at the same speed, the mining turtle is also very useful for quickly mining obsidian, as long as you’re familiar with the controls. There are also other commands that are not listed here. Note that the commands do not have a capital at the beginning.
This is a way to get complicated and long strings of code on your turtle without having to type it up. This is also a useful place to find out many more commands to use on the turtle by reading the commands written. Also this action requires an internet connection to retrieve the commands from Pastebin. For the turtle to retain any programs it has downloaded when the turtle is broken and picked up, it must’ve been named by the command: ‚label set yourturtlename‘.

The Mining Turtle is a block added by the ComputerCraft mod. A Turtle with the ability to mine any block it encounters. The turtle requires fuel to move in the form of combustibles such as, starting with the most efficient: Lava , Coal , Charcoal or Wood. The Turtle is immune to lava and its pick is indestructible. The Turtle doesn’t keep the chunk loaded, this means that the Player has to stay within the same chunk as the Turtle or use a Dimensional Anchor or Chunk Loader.
Leaving the chunk or shutting down the game or a server reboot while a Turtle is running will cause it to forget its task. The Turtle’s programming is written in Lua , an easy to learn code language, given some interest and a good resource. Turtle actions are defined by an API , a set of specific action commands to put the turtle in motion.
Simple tasks may be written to make the Turtle dig a shaft, place torches and ladders, dig tunnels and bridges across lava and so much more, the possibilities of use are endless. We hope the Player will enjoy this remarkable utility companion. Have Fun! Upon placing the Turtle, access its User interface by ‚Right-clicking‘ it.
The command prompt window is where the Player types commands and edit programs.

Last night I played around with Tekkit and the Mining Turtle which comes with it. The Turtle is part of the ComputerCraft mod and can be programmed using Lua and the Turtle API. For fun I wanted to level an area, and I specifically wanted to fill in annoying holes and messy open caves. I decided to divide this into separate problems. First is having the turtle cover a rectangular area. Second is to fill in the holes below each block in the area.
The size is the width and length of the area. Forward, left and right are for moving the turtle and callback is the function to call for each point in the rectangle. This way the function is decoupled from turtle specifics and what I actually want to do. Please let me know if you have a better way to do it. Either way, now the callbacks handed to this function. As you saw, the function requires three callbacks for moving.
For turning left and right we can just use the turtle API directly.

29/07/ · Place down a chest (diamond recommended), and place the turtle in front of it. It is that simple. When it’s inventory becomes full it will dump all of it’s items into the chest. Also, I am not recommending using a turtle as a BuildCraft Quarry. Mining Turtle ‚Safe Excavate‘ Program – HELP. Hey guys I’m looking for a Mining Turtle ‚Safe Excavate‘ Program. What I mean by that is an excavate program that would fill in the holes in the wall or replace all the walls with a certain block. I want this because I have other mods that include jetpacks and it makes trying to get to the bottom of.
Excavate is a built in program for turtles that will mine out a specified width square of blocks, all the way down to bedrock level. It will periodically return to the surface when it is full and drops off mined materials either into an available inventory placed behind it when it starts, or onto the ground. If fuel requirements are enabled, it will also periodically return to the starting point if it requires additional fuel. This program leaves room for improvement, since the turtle moves into every block it mines, when it could instead just move along every third layer and use the turtle.
